How We Celebrated Earth Day

In our house we do our best to make everyday Earth Day, we are always learning and adding new ways to be more earth friendly but one thing we haven’t changed is our yearly garbage walk on Earth Day! Since we moved to this neighborhood when Hannah was 4 we have made a point of taking time every Earth Day to pick up the trash beside a busy road by our place. It’s only a small 3 km stretch of road but it’s enough to remind Hannah of the importance of taking care of the environment

Food Network Star Loves our Rainbows!

Do you know what’s awesome!? Getting a message from Food Network Star and author Melissa d’Arabian about our Today I Ate A Rainbow kits!!!! Not only is she a big fan, she uses our rainbow chart at home with her 4 girls, she also mentions us in her classes and events!  It was such a thrill for us when she asked if we’d like to team up for a wonderful event she was involved in last month called , “Kids in the Kitchen” a Coronado SAFE Fundraiser.  I wish we could have b

First things first, let’s talk about the basics – what a music therapist is, where we work, our education, etc.! Without going into ALL of the details, (but if you are interested in more information, which is AWESOME, I recomme

Happy Healthy Easter Bunny

I’m not sure who decided that every holiday needs to revolve around candy and chocolates…but regardless that’s the way it is and I think one of the best ways to cope is to find ways to incorporate fruits or veggies into holiday occasions to help balance out all that extra sugar! At Easter Hannah and I like to make this cauliflower bunny as part of our centerpiece…add a little dip and it’s gone by the end of the evening! We just cut up a head of cauliflower (we buy

Baked Blueberry French Toast – Kids Cook Monday Series

Hannah wanted to try making a breakfast meal for us this week and let me tell you it was well worth the effort!  And there was definitely a lot of effort! I am getting much better at just letting her do things on her own without chiming in with my advice on how to do it easier or faster!  It’s been a fantastic lesson for me in letting her find her own ways of doing things in the kitchen…in fact it’s also carried on outside of cooking…I’m finding it easier to let h
