Oat Surprise Cookies

posted by: Kia

My friend Deb shared a recipe for a cookie/chewy bar that really appealed to me because it’s healthy and VERY easy to make.  What a great combination!  This is also the perfect recipe to make with your kids, in fact my daughter only needed my help with the oven!

What you’ll need:

3 or 4 mashed bananas
2 cups of oats
1/2 cup of raisins
Cinnamon  A dash will do unless you’re like my daughter who feels the more the better!

Directions:

A Perfect Diet

We are once again thrilled to have another guest blog post from Joy M. Hawk….enjoy!!!

I think we all agree that in an ideal world, our children will eat their rainbow of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, and eat a lots of whole foods and not a lot of sugar or processed stuff.  Super.  Now is that reality?  How does a busy parent achieve such utopia without giving themselves an ulcer?

Honestly, it does take some work.  It takes setting a good example, and,... ....

Eating a wide variety of tasty foods is something that people of all ages are happy to do. Children, though, without some prodding will sometimes get stuck in a food rut and want the same things over and over. Keep your kids happy, fit, healthy, and strong by presenting lots of variety in their meals.
Young kids usually love to help out in the kitchen, and it is a great way to get them to try some new foods also.... ....
