How We Celebrated Earth Day

posted by: Kia

In our house we do our best to make everyday Earth Day, we are always learning and adding new ways to be more earth friendly but one thing we haven’t changed is our yearly garbage walk on Earth Day! Since we moved to this neighborhood when Hannah was 4 we have made a point of taking time every Earth Day to pick up the trash beside a busy road by our place. It’s only a small 3 km stretch of road but it’s enough to remind Hannah of the importance of taking care of the environment and how every little action makes a difference!

So we put on our work gloves and head out to make our little corner of the earth a little cleaner!

We are always talking about and taking care of our bodies by Eating Rainbows so it’s a natural extension to take that care and give it to the Earth.

After our walk we celebrated with the Rainbow fruit sticks that Hannah made for us!

We hope you had a wonderful Earth Day with your family!

Happy Healthy Eating,
Kia

I second the request for the shirts! I don’t see them for sale on the site anywhere. Are the available? My little one would LOVE to have one!

Our whole family is using the chart and eating our rainbows and it helped us all eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies yesterday - something my picky eaters and I have not done in a very long time!...Read More - Lisa C.-
