Pick A Peck of Purple Peppers!

posted by: Kia

Whenever we go grocery shopping Hannah is always drawn to anything that is her favorite color…PURPLE!!! So it didn’t surprise me when she squealed with delight at some gorgeous purple peppers and asked if she could get one. It is such a vibrant color and was the perfect topping to add to our homemade pizzas! We also spent the rest of our shopping trip doing our best to recite the Peter Piper Picked A Peck of Purple Peppers tongue twister!

Colorful peppers are generally more expensive than green ones because they have been left longer on the vine to ripen and gain their color. This also results in less yield per plant so it’s more costly for farmers. But we always think it’s worth the wait and the extra money to enjoy colorful peppers like this beautiful purple one!

Besides it a beautiful way to earn our purple magnet on our Rainbow Chart!

I’d love to find (or grow) some of these. How does the flavor compare to the other colors?

We’ve found purple peppers at the grocery store and at the farmers market! They taste great…more like a red pepper than a green one. Hope you can find some and give them a try!

Hmm, I’ll have to hunt for some. Red is my favorite color of pepper.

I also wanted to tell you that my 3 year old daughter loves your videos. She thinks “Never heard of him!” is the funniest thing ever.

Red is my favorite pepper too!!

Aww that is so sweet that your daughter likes our videos!!! We have a new one coming out very soon :)

Hannah sure can be funny…she’s always making us laugh with her remarks!

Thanks so much for leaving the comments!!!
