Picture Me Cooking Review & Giveaway
posted by: Kia
This week we have a unique The Kids Cook Monday blog post!! I recently had the pleasure of hearing from Colleen Kennedy, one of the brilliant creators of the Picture Me Cooking, cookbook/album! We decided to exchange our products so this is my review and my first giveaway contest!!!!
This cookbook is $19.99 and is available for purchase on their website
This is the first children’s book to combine a cookbook, photo album and activity book all in one! Cook along with your children, take photos of who they cook with and what they create, then slide photos in the provided pockets and you have an heirloom in the making! I love this idea so much because it combines some of my most favorite things: taking pictures of my daughter, spending time in the kitchen giving her lifelong skills, and having a special book to look through with her and remember all the fun we had!
I love the fact there there are pictures to show you what the recipe is supposed to look like! Very helpful for people like myself who aren’t exactly fabulous in the kitchen

The recipes are very easy to follow (which again…very helpful for cooks like me!) and they each have ideas where the kids can help out! The cookbook is full of fun recipes that are kid favorites! Of course my favorites are the ones that use fruits and veggies!!! That said, we also enjoy some yummy treats once in a while, we follow the 80/20 rule at our house which means we give our bodies really healthy food at least 80% of the time so that it can handle it when we eat some not-so-healthy things
I am a big fan of not going to extremes one way or another! Following our 80/20 plan makes it fun and easy to enjoy all foods!
We decided to make the Spaghetti Salad! Look at that full colourful rainbow of veggies in there! Gotta love that!

Hannah had lots of fun cutting up all the veggies (carrots, peppers, cucumbers and olives) it took a while but she did it all by herself!

Spaghetti time…Hannah thought this part was super fun!

Then in goes the rainbow of veggies!!!

Look at this yummy masterpiece…a special thanks to big Daddy for taking such great pics!!
These are my favorite things about this cookbook:
1. It’s a creative way to encourage kids to participate in the kitchen!
2. The design is very sturdy which makes it easy to prop up on the counter.
3. I think it’s so nice to have pictures to look back on and remember the fun times shared in the kitchen.
4. There is a section at the back to write out cherished family recipes!
5. The pictures are great and the recipies are easy to follow.
6. There is a lot of really helpful information and tips!
7. It makes cooking fun!
I know that we are going to have so much fun trying out these recipes and filling out our album with pictures of our sweet little chef!
Thank you Colleen for giving us the opportunity to test our your fantastic product! We love it!

I just want to say that your chart is awesome! Both my kids will eat anything to get a magnet and complete the rainbow every day, and when they do, they always sing the song. The chart also helps me...Read More - Cristina James, B.Ed. ~ Mother of Two, Daughter 5 & Son 3-
