After reading the Welch’s Kitchen Table Report we were able to reach out to well known Registered Dietitian and media personality Sarah-Jane Bedwell to get her opinion on the report and to share some of her favorite tips when it comes to meal planning and getting kids to eat their veggies. Here’s what she had to say: 1. The Welch’s Kitchen Table Report has a lot of positive news! Why do you think families are making mealtimes a priority again? Yes, as a Welch’

I don’t even know where to start with my review of Melissa d’Arabian’s cookbook. In fact I don’t even know if calling Ten Dollar Dinners a cookbook is even accurate or does it justice because, while it does have AMAZING recipes, it is also so much more than a cookbook! This is a collection of recipes, stories, budget saving tips, family mealtime ideas and an overall guide to planning and preparing meals. One of my favorite things about this book is that it feels like I

Have you ever read a book and been so inspired that you immediately take action on what you have learned? That is exactly what happened when I read the new book “French Kids Eat Everything {and yours can too}” by Karen Le Billon. This book is a delightful read that lets you follow a family on their move to France for a year and learn 10 simple rules for raising happy, healthy eaters…and isn’t that what every parent wants!?! Not only does Karen share the 10 food rules, wel

This weekend Hannah prepared a kamut pasta dish for us, lucky for her, Daddy had just made a batch of pasta sauce so she said it was a very easy meal to make because all she had to do was prepare the pasta and a spinach ceasar salad. Her favorite part was stirring the big pot of pasta pretending to be a witch and cackling loudly! When kids are in the kitchen you never know what will happen next…or if you’re going to get turned into a frog! Cooking is just like any other life skill
...Why So Picky???
posted by: Kia
Trying to feed a picky eater is not a very fun task…I know because I do it every day…with myself! I’m getting much better because I have made it my goal to become a more adventurous eater! When I was little I’d go so far as to pick the grated carrots out of carrot cake…my poor mom had it rough! It’s challenging to be a picky eater and a parent who knows the importance of setting a good example when it comes to healthy eating. If you aren’t a picky eater

posted by: Kia
Hannah’s recipe choice this week isn’t a meal but it’s a great snack that we all REALLY enjoyed! Hannah made granola bars from The Whole Family cookbook by Michelle Stern, we both love this cookbook because it’s full of great recipes that the whole family can prepare together! We’ve made the granola recipe in this cookbook plenty of times (we’d never go back to store bought!) so we were really looking forward to seeing how the granola bar recipe would turn o
