Winter Cold? Eat A Rainbow!
posted by: Kia
During the Holidays we tend to relax on the eating rules. We eat less of the healthy options and more of the not so healthy options…like chocolates, candies, baking and heavy foods like mashed potatoes and gravy! The downside of all that tasty food is that our bodies become tired and taxed. Our immune system relies on us to support it with healthy things like fruits and vegetables! So if you have a cold going around your house one of the best things you can do is ensure that everyone is e
...Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids During Road Trips
posted by: Kia
This post was submitted by a leading car dealership in Richmond, VA. Capital Automotive in Richmond wants kids to eat healthy even on long road trips! As we head into the final days of summer, you and your family may be considering a road trip. Road trips promise fun, laughter and excitement, and a family road trip is an excellent way to create lasting, precious memories before your kids start school. Road trips generally lend themselves to stops at convenience stores, gas stations and fast-food

We have been able to meet some amazing rainbow eating families over the years. Connecting with families is one of the best parts of this business! ...Rockin’ Radicchio
posted by: Kia
During our last grocery shop, Hannah picked up a Radicchio and declared that we just had to try it!! It really is a cute little thing and when we peeled the leaves it felt just like deflated balloons! Hannah ate some raw, I added some leaves to my morning juice and the rest we added to our baby spinach salad. We found it to have a slightly bitter taste, we’ve never tried these before so we don’t have much of a reference point for what a good one should look and taste like! How do yo
...Why So Picky???
posted by: Kia
Trying to feed a picky eater is not a very fun task…I know because I do it every day…with myself! I’m getting much better because I have made it my goal to become a more adventurous eater! When I was little I’d go so far as to pick the grated carrots out of carrot cake…my poor mom had it rough! It’s challenging to be a picky eater and a parent who knows the importance of setting a good example when it comes to healthy eating. If you aren’t a picky eater
...“Rainbow” Quinoa with Marinated Tofu Spring Rolls
posted by: Kia
You are in for a treat with this guest blog post by Dana from Green Apple Baby! Just looking at her gorgeous pictures is making me hungry! Enjoy… Quinoa is a staple in our household. It is a super grain, containing all 9 essential amino acids, making it a “complete” protein. Quinoa is also high in fiber, iron and calcium! It is inexpensive and extremely easy to make. I couldn’t think of a better way to showcase it on Today I Ate A Rainbow, than by naming it after them!
...Our whole family is using the chart and eating our rainbows and it helped us all eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies yesterday - something my picky eaters and I have not done in a very long time!...Read More - Lisa C.-
