Snacks Are A Snap!

posted by: Kia

My friends over at The Kid Can Cook let me know about a very important campaign that they are a part of in Texas called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP – a program that is federally funded but shares administrative costs with each state.  Right now, in Texas, 1 in 4 children is food insecure – that means that roughly 1,723,992 children in Texas don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Perfect Diet

posted by: Kia

We are once again thrilled to have another guest blog post from Joy M. Hawk….enjoy!!! Raising healthy eaters is easy to do when you get your kids involved with the food they eat! I think the key to success is to mak

In our family, I’ve found the easiest way to get my children to eat more fruits or vegetables is to make it accessible to them. Our fruit basket sits on the counter, where they can reach it! I want them to be able to get snacks themselves, so I put it right in their line of sight so they can see it at all times. Here

This week we have a special guest who will be sharing her thoughts on making granola for the first time!  Our very own Rainbow Girl Hannah Robertson will take it from here I think The Whole Family Cookbook is amazing!  The recipe was easier than I thought it would be because I’ve never made granola before.  We usually get granola from the store.  We got the Whole Family Cookbook and I saw that it had a recipe for granola.  I didn’t know I could make my own granola!!!  It
