The Olympics = Healthy Eating

posted by: Kia

It’s time for the Olympics!! Watching the amazing athletes with your kids gives you great opportunities to talk about making choices that are good for our bodies.  These ultra athletes don’t get there by filling their bodies with junk food on a daily basis.  They have to make smart choices with what foods they use to fuel their bodies and that is something we can work on.  We all want our kids to be the happiest and healthiest versions of themselves and one of the best ways to make that happen is by feeding them lots of colorful fruits and veggies everyday!

Why not take these next couple of weeks of Olympic excitement to challenge your whole family to make healthy lifestyle choices.  Eating Rainbows, going for walks, playing at the beach, riding bikes…there are even articles such as this one from The Yummy Mummy Club that have lots of great mini Olympic ideas that you can set up for your kids in your own backyard!

The Olympics is a great time to celebrate what humans are capable of when we focus our energy on creating healthy habits and a strong determination to achieve our goals.  Who knows maybe your little Rainbow Eater might be at the Olympics one day because they learned at a young age that if they take good care of their bodies…anything is possible!

Happy Healthy Eating
